A fairly recent addition to Dodge's roster of SUVs is the Dodge Nitro, a compact sport utility vehicle introduced in 2006. This SUV was the manufacturer's first compact SUV since 1990, and is the first Dodge vehicle to become available in Europe. Packed with high-grade Dodge Nitro parts built for on- and off-road use, this model guarantees excellent road handling, engine performance, and ride quality.

The Dodge Nitro was initially sold as an SUV that can tow a maximum of 5000 pounds. The first model is also equipped with side curtain airbags and traction control, and a "Load `N Go" cargo floor. Three years after it was released, several Dodge Nitro parts were upgraded and it became available in three trim models: Shock, Detonator, and Heat. The Shock and Detonator models are equipped with a 4L, 260 horsepower V6 engine and a 5-speed automatic transmission. As for the Heat model, it features a 3.7L 210 horsepower V6 engine. In 2011, nine new colors were added into the selection. The Shock, Heat, and Detonator models are now available in different exterior coats that include "Blackberry Pearl," "Redline Two," "Toxic Orange Pearl," and "Bright White Clear."
