The Durango was introduced by Dodge in 1998 as an SUV that can carry eight passengers and tow a maximum load of 8950 lbs. when equipped with the right Dodge Durango parts and accessories. The earlier version was classified as a mid-size SUV, but it was converted in 2004 into a full-size sport utility vehicle. In 2011, it was redesigned into a full-size crossover SUV.
Production for the latest Dodge Durango generation started in 2010, and promises more powerful engine options. These include a Pentastar V6 and a Hemi VVT V8. The Pentastar V6 provides 290 HP and 260 lb. ft. of torque. As for the Hemi VVT V8, it's equipped with ingenious Dodge Durango parts and features such as the "fuel saver" mode.
Each model from this series is also packed with durable Dodge Durango parts that are built to exceed customer expectations and industry standards. So whether you choose an Express, Citadel, or CrewLux, you can expect the same quality and performance. Now as part of the company's efforts in helping preserve and protect natural resources, it released a hybrid Durango in 2009.
According to EPA tests, this version has a fuel mileage of 20 miles per gallon, making it one of the most fuel efficient vehicles released by Dodge. By 2008, about 400 hybrid SUVs have already been manufactured to start catering to the thousands of models pre-ordered by dealers. Because of its highly reliable Dodge Durango parts and powerful engine, the Durango continues to be an active model, with a new series released after every five years.
