Massively improved stance; massively low price Posted 2007-09-04 00:27:46 by badassblueram

I installed a set of these lowering shackles on my 2004 Dodge 1500 standard cab in about 30 minutes and once everything settled in the truck looked great. It got the back end out of the air and leveled the truck out nice. Its a great way to improve the stance of your truck if you cant afford a lowering kit or just want to level things out a bit.

Improved appearance and handling Posted 2007-11-30 23:03:39 by rumblebee1051

The rear lowering shackles were easy to install and leveled out my 2005 Dodge 1500 standard cab. The truck also huged the road better afterwards.

Great Price and perfect fit. Posted 2007-12-11 21:45:56 by hubbycap

The instructions from DJM are rather generic. The new body style Silverado's shackle bolts are not that easy to remove. It was necessary to remove the rear tires, spare, receiver hitch, 8 bed bolts and jack up the bed to get the OEM shackles out. Not the fault of DJM, because the DJMs fit perfectly and the reassembly is a piece of cake. Love the new ride height. No noises, no problems. The DJMs represent a good value. Because of the OEM design, no other shackle would install easier. 1 good friend and myself: 2.5 hours, complete. Happy with my purchase.

Rear - Lowering Shackles Posted 2007-12-17 19:28:36 by rbfiest

I installed the lowering shackles on my 2002 Dodge 1500 Quad cab. They were easy to install and lowered my truck 1 1/4 inches. I like the look and for the price, this is a great add-on.

High quality product with nice results Posted 2008-03-22 09:49:26 by djtaulbeejr

These are very well-made shackles, they look nice and there are no squeeks or rubbing. The only minus is in the installation. For these new body style trucks, there is a 1/2" lip the extends below the bed that makes removal of the upper bolt very difficult. I was able to bend the lip enough top get the bolt out and back in, but, I wouldn't want to do it again. This is not a DJM problem, the shackles are a perfect fit. You would run into this with any lowering shackle.

Just fine Posted 2008-04-07 09:46:41 by lv4cad

I installed these on my '92 ext cab Friday evening. The top bolt was no problem once you remove the bottom one. My truck now sits level and looks better. Can't wait til I can do the 2" in front and 2" more in the rear.

Easy to do, if you not a moron like me! Posted 2008-05-16 23:08:51 by maddog4actual

These were installed on a '04 Sierra SLT. Very easy, once I figured it out. The instructions suck (that's why I marked it a 4 for installation), but a little brain power and alot of cussing got it done. I have the towing package, which facilitated the removal of the hitch (which was a pain in the butt because of dual aftermarket exhaust)just to get the bots out. Had to take the tires off too because I have 20's and there is an amazing amount of travel in the rear end. BTW, to get the top bolts out simply lift the axle once the bottom bolts are out. Time: 2.5 hrs cussing, 1 hr working by myself. Otherwise, the beast looks awesome. Now that I got rid of that butt up in the air look.

easy for '94 tough for '07 Posted 2008-06-04 12:53:27 by jdyoung

Installing them on my 1994 silverado was easy. Installing them on my 2007 was a knuckle buster. The lip on the bottom of the bed must be bent or knotched out on the new body styles.

08 dodge ram 1500. MUST READ!!! Posted 2008-09-20 17:10:02 by slayer666

instalation was easy but the shackels where very noisy. tech support recommended 40-50lbs of torque on shackle bolts. still noisy! tried 45lbs,40,35,30,then finally at 25lbs they went quiet.also greased everything up,but that really had no effect. the shackle to leaf connection is good at any torque but the shackle to frame connection is what needs to be at 25lbs. now that i got that down the shackels are great. they droped the rear exactly 2",and look good.ride feels a little firmer in the rear and helped it from hoping on bumpy turns.with this information, this product is a good bang 4 the buck.worth the money.hope this helps u dodge guys.

Shackles look great by themselves and even better on my truck! But the installation instructions are not detailed enough for a person with no mechanical skills.

Excellent product. On my 06 Dodge 2 wheel quad it took me 45 minutes with just hand tools. Most of that was getting the truck high enough to disconnect the springs. It dropped 1.25", handles better and looks right.

These are perfect!! Put on 2005 Sierra 1500 crew cab. Easy to do. About an hour install. Measured truck before and after. Dropped rear end 1.5" exactly, but the "LOOK" is now level as I wanted. Looks awesome and rides great!! These are well built and have no issues so far - no squeaks or anything. Torqued to 50ft/lbs per dealer - do this when truck is on ground with full weight on it. I advise you re-torque after 500 miles or so as well just in case. Good luck.

I got the full 2" drop I wanted, and installed them with brand new stock OEM leafsprings. The ride is deffinatly stiffer but, "I still have yet to install the DJM Cal-max Drop shocks. I'll be writting a reveiw on the 3" dream beams after I fully restore the front end suspension on my truck. Later days

Cheap and well made Posted 2009-05-19 13:59:31 by kevin4590

djtaulbeejr is right, on new gmc models you have to unbolt the bed or bend the metal. I found it easier to bend the metal than unbolt the bed. Bending the metal isn't going to hurt anything. They didn't quite level the truck off but still looks good. The instructions that are given with the shackles are not very helpful. Once I found out what I needed to do, I done another truck in about 20 - 30 mins. I would recommend this product.

Lovin my new look Posted 2009-06-07 21:37:50 by fireman42

I had to put 4 washers (2 on either side) of both shackles to make them fit. Nothing in the instructions talk about having to do this. But that is my only complaint. I love the new look and ride of my truck. I will buy many more things from Stylin Trucks.

These look good and they fit perfectly. Installation is a bit tricky and the directions SHOULD be better, but it's not a hard thing to do yourself. Word of advice, have at least one friend to help you out, there's a few things that can be tricky and an extra pair of hands is useful. We did the shackle swap in 20 minutes in the driveway wihtout any problems. The stance afterward is almost dead level on a two-wheel drive crew cab pick up - more aggressive than stock for sure, and the ride is improved a little but still stable and solid. A very good product.

A+ Product Posted 2010-04-12 11:43:09 by Soulman07

Easy as pie to install and a very great product overall. To anyone who is having issues installing something this simple... PLEASE refrain from doing anything else to your vehicle and take it to your nearest mechanic ASAP. This was just one of the many parts ordered for a completed 5/8 drop.

Great value and easy to install Posted 2010-05-30 19:15:11 by kaycee

2010 Silverado Regular Cab. As others have stated, the bolts interfere with the bed. I did not want to bend anything, so I did it the 'hard' way...I removed 6 bed bolts bolts and left the front 2 loose, jacked-up the bed and then it was easy to remove the shackle bolt. The quality of the shackles is very good, and I did verify that I got a 2" drop after the swap. Now the trucks sits about 1" higher in the rear--just about perfect. One other thing that I did that has not been mentioned is that after the swap, I re-adjusted my headlight aim to specs. It's easy to do and the 'how-to' instructions were in my owner's manual. Overall a great product!

2" Lowering shackles Posted 2010-08-30 15:17:05 by Anonymous

I am a disabled VET from the sixties I took my time, they were very easy to install. My son offered to help me, I said to him that I need to do this by my self. He watched the whole time, from start to finish. We enjoyed that time together. He bought me a set of 9"x17" wheels and a set of 265x17 Toyo MT Open Country tires for my 01 1/2 ton chevy pickup. It leveled it out perfect.I can get into it pretty easy. The shackles made it look great, I am so very pleased with the product and the young men that helped me there at your company. And my Son being by my side...Thanks again, Chris From the Northern mountains of northern California The West Coast Loggers..8/30/10
