Where did you get that? Posted 2007-07-03 17:28:26 by keng0529

Have had several people stop and ask where I got my Fire & Ice light bar because they really like the way it looks and I have only had it on my Dark Blue "05" Chevy Avalanche for a week. The hardest part of the install was washing and drying the surface it was installed on.

Looks Bangin! Posted 2007-07-17 21:30:25 by elpotato12

Looks tight on my Black '05 F-150... easy to install. The brake, turn signal lights get plugged into the tow harness that should be stock on your truck, the hardest part of the install is splicing the white reverse wire into your reverse lights... other than that, this install was a piece of cake. *Note- You won't be able to lower your tailgate unless you cut that metal piece off... I don't use mine so I'm straight, but it's definitely something you need to consider if you do use yours.

Nice! But! Posted 2007-07-24 18:09:47 by bandit7342

The Fire and Ice bar looks good at night and adds safty features to the back of my 05 F150. Very easy to install, took longer to take the paper off the tape than it did to install. Now the but! The mounting bar should be chromed in the day light it looks a little tacky. Chrome would look so much better. I do recommend this produt and would buy it again

I like the Fire & Ice Light bar Looks very nice on my 1996 Dodge Ram Sport Pick-up, BUT in my state they are not legal because the Mfg. Did not put a DOT (Dept Of transportation) label on the light bar where it could not be removed and can be seen by the state inspecting people. As long as I have the light bar on my truck they will not pass my truck at the time of inspection (once a year) I was told I could remove it each time I got my truck inspected, But If I got pulled over by the state police He could give me a ticket for ilegal Equpiment. update from a dummy Posted 2007-07-26 19:46:30 by bandit7342

I missread the direction and put my light bar on my tailgate. It will not go where it is supposed to because of a tailgate stop. It is a great product but the manufactures or my truck didn't think about fire and ice. If someone has an 05 F150 ford and put this on as per directions please let me know. [email protected]

Fire & Ice Very Nice - Worth The Price Posted 2007-07-28 09:15:44 by Peter Senesi

Installed it on my 05 Chevy Avalanche took 15 minutes. Besides the 3M tape I also used three small pop rivets to add extra strength to the install. I get compliments all the time. You have to splice one wire into your back up light the rest plugs into trailer hitch outlet. Looks great adds safety, Fire & Ice Very Nice & Worth The Price!

third and final review Posted 2007-08-26 15:29:34 by bandit7342

I have done 2 reviews this is the third. I have a 05 F150 ford pickup and couldn't get the light bar where it belonged so I called the manufacturer. They suggested I notch the plasic on the Fire n Ice so the metal rod that comes out of my tailgate would clear the light bar. I did it and it worked fine looks great and didn't void my warrenty. If you deside to do this I suggest you call the manufacturer youself. The customer sevice person was great and very helpful. H. Pitt

Awesome product Posted 2007-09-07 22:54:09 by Lunchbox

I love the F & I Bar. Considering I have blacked out taillights this keeps the fuzz from bothering me. I've heard people complain you can't see in the daylight and it washes out. Well so does everything else so don't let that fool you. The brakes are bright and the reverse function is brighter than I expected. The price is well worth it and can't be beat. Upgrade to this! Recommended!!!

Not a complaint Posted 2007-09-17 21:52:45 by jctv76

I put these on my 2001 suburban i lost the instructions so i didnt split wires and instead i bought a new trailer plug from my autoparts store. It has the 7 blade round plus two more 4 and 5 flat pugs built in. I park the vehic. on the street so i installed with the tape and 3 self drilling screws. My wife loves it and now she wants one for the bravada.

I installed the fire & ice light on my new 07 truck chevy and it looks cool and a lot of people ask me about it. But splising into my tale lights was not the way I wanted to go, but you got to do it. 15 minutes was all it took. If you have a trailer conection, I advise you splise into it.

Fire and Ice Posted 2009-10-12 16:05:45 by JWagner

Original post: 10/18/2007 Way better quality then the all red light bar. Had to use there 60 day warrantee a few times, but with the Fire and Ice it has lasted over a year and a half. Even transfered it from vehicles. These are the only source of taillights, turn signals and reverse lights on the back of my Dakota, and I wouldn't go with someone I personally wouldn't recommend. Also, if you shave your taillights and use this as your only source of rear lighting, check local laws, and use small DOT reflectors, since you are required to have one on each corner of the vehicle. Edit: 10/12/09 Just like to add almost 2 years later, and still going strong!

Fire and Ice L.E.D. bar Posted 2007-10-26 02:11:40 by 1eleanor

The installation was the easy part, the only item that will be optional to purchase is a roll of 3M tape to safely secure the bar in place, other than that be prepared to turn heads day and night!!

The first shipment had to be returned because it was broken in shipping. A replacement shipment was sent immediately. The light bar was extremely easy to install on the back of my Dodge Ram. It looks great, and really catches the eye, especially the brightness of the backup lights. My son likes it so much, he has hinted for one of these for his truck, as a Christmas gift!

Won't fit trucks with hole between bumper & tailgate needed to lower spare tire Posted 2007-12-05 20:59:22 by Don O'Connell

Take note if you own a 2006 Dodge Ram or another with the same spare tire lowering system. If you properly position this where it can be seen (which is the point) you will cover the hole necessary to insert the rod to lower your spare tire. I could have mounted it above this hole but it would have been blocked by the tailgate.

I purchased this for a 2006 Ford F150 FX4. I called and was told it would fit. Well, it does not as a bar that is in the tailgate that stops it from dropping beyond horizontal will strike the light.

Please post a note about the nub on the tailgate!! Posted 2007-12-12 18:02:26 by carnut57

Well It looked good till the first time I opened and closed the tailgate!! There is a nub on the bottom of the tailgate that cracked mine and now it dosen't work!! Ford owners would like to know this before they spend this kind of money to break something!! Please post something on the website so the next 04 up ford F150 owner that buys one knows he is going to have to cut something off his truck to make it work!! I'm really disappointed to have spent this money and break something that fast!!!!!!!

NIce Light Bar Posted 2007-12-17 11:24:42 by the2larues

This light bar was a bit difficult to install on my Titan. The factory 3M tape was quite limited and would not stick to the area below the tailgate but I think that was mainly due to the spray on bedliner. I had to take the factory tape off and put some 3M tape on for the entire length of the light bar and then I had to notch the light bar to fit around the access hole for my spare tire. It was a lot more work than I had anticipated but it looks great.

I purchased the light bar mid-summer 2007. Installation was fairly easy, you do need to hard wire the reverse light. Recently the left side LED's burned out, I called up Stylin Truck's customer service and they really took care of me. Even though the light bar was a few months old, they are replacing it! This is why I am a returning customer, and will recommend to all! Thanks Stylin Trucks!

MAGNIFICO!!!!!! Posted 2007-12-19 23:24:55 by bgmiket

I was very happy with my light bar. However, when the directions said to put the white reverse wire on it was not clear exactly how to do it. So, if anyone has trouble with the instalation of the reverse wire just take off the driver's side tail light and reverse light bulb, use a light bulb tester to find live wire while someone puts the vehicle in reverse. Oh yah, make sure they hold the brake too. Then, slice wire just enough to show some bare wire, connect white wire to reverse wire. Then tape securely together. Sounds like alot, but it went pretty smoothly.

Great Light Posted 2007-12-21 14:14:48 by kooldodge

I really like the look and functions of this light,The more light out back the better. Installation was fairly easy with the exception of the spare tire crank down hole on my dodge but it will fit. For the reverse light we tapped into the round seven pronge harness in the bumper, the center is the back-up wire.

Looks great and works perfect. For any one installing make sure your tail gate opens and closes with out hitting the light bar before taping. I ending up taking the tape off the back and mounting in more flush to fit with ease. Other than that instalation went great.

Good Looking Light Bar, But! Posted 2007-12-30 15:08:18 by cocno1

I Have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 and I will tell you that you have to mount the light bar up a little higher than you normally would so that you can get your jack implement into the hole that lowers down your spare tire! Then you have to be careful not to mount it to high or when you lower your tailgate it will hit the light bar and maybe damage it! I moved mine up a little and then cut a little piece out of the hard rubber gromet that goes around the spare tire hole so the bar you use to lower the spare tire would still slide in thru the hole, or you can remove the hard rubber gromet all together before installing the light bar! I got mine on though and it looks great! I really like the reverse light function at night! One more thing the instructions doesn't tell you is that you have to splice into your reverse light wiring! I called my local Dodge service dept. and got them to tell me the wire to splice into which for my year truck it was a violet with black stripe! Hope this helps!

2007 gmc caynon Posted 2008-06-11 19:19:07 by kennyg

Light bar looks good but if you own a 2004-2007 gmc caynon you will notice when you put the brakes on at the same time as the turn signals it will blink opposite of the taillight it is not a fault in the light bar it is the way these trucks are built. they have seperate turn from brake. gm is trying to come up with a fix to the problem for these trucks that have a factory tow package. Gm has advised me to hard wire it before the trailer harness to fix this problem.

I installed this on my brothers 1998 Chevy Silverado. The hardest part of installation was adhering the light stick straight on the truck. I hard wired this light and total time for installation was an hour and a half. GREAT lighting especially the white LEDs for backup. Good product good price.

Great Bar, a little tricky on install Posted 2008-01-09 09:15:53 by hlawrimore

I love the light bar, I just wish that it came with some splicing instructions and conectors. I hardwired it to my lights, that way I did not tie up the trailor light plug. However, I fortunatly had my own splicing equipment and conectors so I figured it out. The instructions could be a little more detailed on the splicing aspect.

Fire & Ice light bar Posted 2008-01-14 13:15:46 by marshalljr21

Light bar looks great, easy install. The reverse lights on the bar need to be hardwired (Very easy if you have any electrical skills). And I would just use the trailer hitch adapter because if you have a trailer on the vehicle you wont see the light bar. GREAT PORDUCT, WOULD DEFFINATLY RECCOMEND TO ANYONE.

Awesome light bar!! Posted 2008-01-14 23:04:46 by jshores3

I recently received my Fire & Ice 60" light bar for my 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 dually. A friend had gotten one prior to me and gave me some good tips along with reading all the comments left by customers. For this model truck I do recommend you notch the grommet covering the spare tire raise/lower mechanism. Also if you will place a CD case on the bumper and slide the light bar in to the area under the tailgate and it will be perfectly lined up. Overall this is an awesome product. Installation took approximately 30 minutes... maybe if you count the time it took to take off the taillight assembly, clean the area where I was going to put the light bar, and make sure the light bar was centered.

This is just right for my truck,i drive the highway alot, you will get noticed, but dont put in reverse at the red light, everybody freak's out,it's brite easy to install, easyest way that i found out. is to remove tail gate, it goes on straight, and on a ford just trim out around steel pin hole.....

Great light bar Highly visible even when dirty Posted 2008-01-20 20:47:49 by raysed

Installation of this product is a real no-brainer. Even a quick look at the directions will get you where you need to go. I took the extra time to wire it directly, which is very easy with the pre-punched/drilled holes in the tail light mounts. Total install time was less than 25 minutes.

I INSTALLED THE 60 " BAR ON MY 2006 CHEVY SILVERNADO . THIS LIGHT BAR COULD BE IMPROVED BY HAVING BLADE PLUG-IN ON THE END OF THE WHITE WIRE AND A NEW STYLE QUICK WIRE SPLICE CONNECTOR FOR THE BACK-UP WIRE CONNECTION [ REFERENCE THE CONNECTORS ON THE HIGH-4 LIGHT KIT ] ALSO , THE WHITE BACK-UP BULBS COULD BE BRIGHTER . ONCE INSTALLED THE LIGHT BAR WORKED GOOD

Very Happy Posted 2008-02-03 10:04:28 by Jeffboocr

I love it, it's bright, and it really set's my Avalanche above others. Installation though was a different matter. You have two choices. First, buy and adapter that you can't lock down that sticks out, and could be easily stolen (eyesore). Second, you have to get up under and hard wire it in with no directions on how to do that. That would have been nice to know ahead of time. The adhesive also does not work on the Avalanche, because the truck doesn't have enough surface where the unmovable 3m tape is. So I again had to find additional solutions and spend more money. That issue may be Avalanche/year specific, I am not sure. Still, I would buy it again.

GREAT PROCUCT BUT, Posted 2008-03-17 17:38:37 by nurseROB

I had this product on my 06' chevy SS and it worked great, but since I traded it in for an 08' avalanche it does not fit due to the new design around the tailgate. So, when you try to order it for and '08 avalanche don't buy it unless you want to make modifications either to the led light or your truck. But, if they come out with one that fits the '08 avalanche, I will be the first in line to buy!

I just purchased one of these Fire & Ice Lightbars for my 2003 Dodge Dakota Q/C even though I knew it would not fit in the typical location like most trucks between the tailgate and bumper, so with a little creative thinking I came up with another mounting location for it. I have a Undercover(Hard Bed Cover) for my truck and I mounted it there on the rear edge so you can only see the LED, and I ran the wires down inside the bed. I did have to loosen up the bed cover mounting brackets and slide the cover back a little, but that wasn't no big deal. But it does look SWEEEEEET. It really makes the back end look good. I do wish that the wires were a little heavier guage.

Incredibly simple installation Posted 2008-04-16 18:35:24 by JRs_SilveradoZ71

I just installed this on a 2004 Silverado Z71. The overall fit is perfect. The ease of installation was incredible. I did have to buy an adaptor but it was inexpensive. Had this installed in about 25 minutes or less. The suggestion about using CD cases as spacers was a great tip...thanks!! Mine came out perfectly centered and level. The main reason I bought this was partly good looks but also partly for a lot more safety. Designers really flopped when it came to designing my truck. At nite its not a very visible vehicle. But I think I've improved that some. Only 1 negative. The sticky pads are in a bit of an ackward position for my truck. Where the bed panels meet the back bed pan there is a little lip where the metal panels overlay. No matter how you tweak it either one side of the other is going to sit on that gap. If those pads were just 1/4" in on each side I think it would fit like a glove. Great product.

I connected this to another truck to see if it was the bar but it all worked just fine. Also for anyone else you cant install this under the tailgate if you want access to your tailgate or spare tire. so i installed it under my back glass window looks great.

Much Better Than the Red Only Bar Posted 2008-05-03 18:36:31 by hornet

Do not buy the red only $49 led bar. It's garbage. For $20.00 more buy the Fire and Ice bar, even if you don't use the back up function. I went through 2 cheapo $49 red only bars, both went bad after the 60 day warranty. So I bought the Fire and Ice Bar. The quality is 1000% better than the $49 cheapo, and it has a Lifetime warranty.

Mixed review Posted 2008-05-23 12:19:29 by hahabrew

This is somewhat of a mixed review. Currently I have had to replace the bar twice. When I wire it for the white lights it doesn't work. Stylin' Trucks customer service has been really easy to work with and very quick to replace the item (no questions asked). Hopefully the third one works. On the flip side, this was very easy to install. I have an '01 Dodge Ram 1500. It has very little clearance between the tailgate and truck, when I lower the tailgate. The one suggestion I have is to use metal screws and mount it directly to the frame of the truck without the 3M stickies. This gave just enough room to keep the tailgate from hitting the light bar, when it's lowered. When I get a working light bar mounted I will send pics to the website showing how I got around the access hole for the spare tire. It is a unique solution, but it works and takes very little time to do.

Fire and Ice Posted 2008-05-30 11:53:38 by drapman

Had to do some retrofitting to the bar to fit Honda Ridgeline, shortened it and notched out on ends. White wire should have been included in the 4 wire pigtail. Was a bit of a challenge on a new vehicle to fine which wire was back up wire. Love the way it looks.

Fire and Ice LED light bar 60' Posted 2008-07-05 12:03:43 by chevy2500

I recently bought this light bar for my 08 Silverado.I had previously installed a light bar on my pace trailer and 05 Silverado, both hard wired in. Seems GM has changed there wiring harness and made things alot more difficult.Instead of seperate wiring for the turn siganls and brakes, they are now 1. cause of this you CANNOT hard wire this light bar and get all of it's functions. After contacting the manufacture, found out you need an adapter which is a diode that hooks upto the light bar and your truck wiring harness. NO where in Stylin Concepts ad or description is this mentioned. Also to make things worse, the instuctions that came with the bar were for another type vehicle. After a couple of hrs trying to talk to someone who knew what they were talking about,Conrad(light bar mfg. personel) advised me he would send me a adapter FREE and things would then work properly. Meanwhile I will have to get back into the harness for third time to cut and splice again.Unlike previous light bars(easy installations) this one has become a nightmare.I would suggest to anyone buyting this product to ask about the adapter BEFORE purchasing it.

Product review beware of the extra stuff. Posted 2008-07-25 05:16:25 by tommygfunk

On my 2001 Silverado HD the problem stands as this light bar did not come with the extra stuff to hard wire it in. If you can just wire it 4 pin to 4 pin and leave it at that. The time on the phone and waiting for parts to be sent thru the mail just is not worth the trouble. I hard wired mine directly into the trucks electoral system and it works well now that I finally received the two resisters and diode. Before you order this for your truck check and see if you will need these items. The install took over 4 weeks waiting on the electoral parts to get here. First shipment the envelope was shredded and parts lost. The second shipment was sent in a padded envelope with electoral instructions that I requested and it safely made it here.

Perfect... Posted 2008-10-08 13:15:50 by Silver08rado

Fire and Ice, who would have thought they would go so good together. I've had this light bar for about 4 months now and I love it, so many compliments and the added security of "I know they can see me now" for those jerks that like to follow ridiculously close to you. Installation was decent, directions only showed you really how to hard wire it to your harness which if you have any idea of how those work it is pretty simple. Since I have a new truck I didn't want to cut and tape and all of that "quick fix" stuff so I went out and bought some of those harness clips that splice it together and seal it from the weather, I recommend those as well. The tape on those things are so sticky its almost a painstaking process to get them not to stick when you're trying to fit it so them falling off is out of the question. I've heard of cd's for spacers, I tried it...its okay but I got it straight with just eying it up and taking my time. Installation is about 15-30 minutes if you know what you're doing by yourself, can't complain, it looks awesome. The L.e.d shines in night and day. If you're thinking about getting this product, then stop looking and just buy it, you wont be disappointed.

INSTALLED ON TRAILER RAMP Posted 2008-10-21 21:22:13 by Mr_Geo

I'm a landscaper and wanted to let drivers behind me know if I was braking or turning, particularly tailgaters. I have a trailer with brake/turn signals that are low to the ground and tailgaters can't see what I'm going to do. My trailer gate has "L" beams that run vertically so I drilled holes through them and installed the LED Light bar at the top of my ramp. If you plan on doing the same, know that you will need to buy a metal hole saw, extra wiring, and possibly an extra 5-pin plug to hook up to your vehicle's wiring. The LED Light bar has worked perfectly, even with all of the jarring that trailers get from bouncing over potholes. I highly recommend people using trailers to augment their lighting with a LED Light Bar. The LED will not burn out from vibration like typical incandescent lights so you have added assurance that drivers know what you are doing at all times. I purchased a 60" Light Bar as well, and plan to install on my new truck for added assurance that those behind me know what I am doing.

Every Truck Needs 1 Posted 2009-01-28 21:20:28 by jrock2369

Installed on 2007 Ram 1500 Sport. 60" fitment is great. Used CD cases as spacers for light installation. tailgate touches a little when completely open, but there is room to tire iron to spare tire. I used 4 prong plug and it didnt work at first. When lights were on, LEDS were fully bright. Plasmaglow sent me a diode kit that was pre wired into a 4 prong harness on each end FOR FREE. Plug that in between light and trailer plug and all problems were fixed. Looks Great!!!!

fire and ice led bar Posted 2009-05-14 12:51:01 by desert rat

Love it, helps keep your truck visible in traffic, and for the ford owners that have the nub on the lower right make sure you take it off before installing it, it takes a torks to remove it very simple. if you dont remove this nub you will break your light bar. great product :o)~

Very Cooolllllll !!!! Posted 2009-06-18 19:13:59 by cowboybilly

I installed the Fire&Ice light bar on my 08 Silverado. It looks and works great. I have a warranty on my truck and did not want to hard wire this in. So I bought a 7 to 4 flat adaptor and that works great. But now I have a utility trailer and I still want to keep my warranty intact. So, I have decided to buy the Fire & Ice light bar set for the trailer and use a multi-tow adaptor 7rv to a 4 & 5 flat. We are going to change the 4 flat on the trailer to a 5 flat by using the white wire for back up lamps. I hope this will help some of you. I love my light bar. It's is awesome ansd so cool!

Fire & Ice LED Light Bar 48" Posted 2009-07-07 17:16:53 by SCUTURIO_JMS

As a Satisfied Customer of StylinTrucks I had purchased many items (Listed Below) .Fire & Ice LED Light Bar 48" Installed with my parking lights that is mounted under my Tool-Box Cover that is controlled by a toggle switch that is installed inside on the dash board. .Fire & Ice LED Lght Bar 60" Installed with my parking lights that is mounted under my Tail-Gate. .Luma Flex LED Strips (Blue) Installed under the Wheel-Wells that is connected on mt interior dome light. (White) Installed under the Bed-Rails The Fire & Ice LED Light Bar is an phenomenal product that I recommend anyone to purchase which they will be a satified customer. The Luma Flex LED Strips is a great product but, does have a fault which is very hard to see durning the daylight. At night this product is great which displays it's true purpose which will make any customer very satified. Thank You, Joseph M. Scuturio

I recently purchased this item because I bought a new pickup. When i first saw this item i thought that it would not hold up. Because the old light bars have a plastic covering. But i did end up buying this item, and it was a great purchase. Easy insulation, and looks great. Best of all since it is super thin you don't have to worry about it hitting your tailgate when you put it down. Overall great product, recommend it.

Much better than old style Posted 2009-09-22 12:22:17 by ptbarnett

Old style crapped out on me after 4 months, so I'll hold on the 3 for quality. This was MUCH easier to install and a whole lot cheaper to ship.

Good product, works well, but it takes a little work to mount it if you have the hole in the bed for lowering the spare tire.

Great while it lasted... Posted 2010-01-17 13:22:40 by lilred383

The light bar installed easily enough. I just connected it to me 4 pin connector. I was to hard wire everything so the back up lights would work, but before I had a chance to, half of the left side stopped working. Tailgate clearance was not a problem so they didn't get crushed...just stopped working. You would think for the amount of money I spent, that they would hold up better.

I was double checking the wiring before installing the strips and it worked great. After I carefully made sure every wire was still correct and secure I went and tried it again. This time nothing worked. I could not get one single light to display. The circuit board is in a cheap plastic case which broke when trying to take it back off. This is the first real disappointment I have had with anything I have bought. Glad I did not stick the strips on.

The is great but the instruction weren't correct for the truck it was to be installed on. However the people at Stylintrucks were very helpful in resolving that problem. GREAT people to do business with.

I love it when it works. I'm on my second one and now the left side went out. It is not cheap to send back either. I guess I will just do without. It is not a proven and reliable product. My truck, 2003 Silverado SS.
