the bar is great, the mounts for lights are perfect! though heres the big ass problem... the mounting hardware/kit SUCKS! they are tiny and if you need adjusting done they dont allow that. once their on there on and they are pretty damn hard on the appearance. i say if your willing to this on a urathine (spelling sorry) bumper be careful and if you got a steal one attempt it but the mounting kit is harsh

i purchased the Dakar light bar, and it was not what i expected at first. The steel tubing was not nearly as strong as i thought it would be and the installation seemed to be a pain in the ass at first.(know your truck before jumping to conclusions)the light tabs are perfect for the mounting the lights. The only other real complaint i had about the bar is that it is not sturdy. you cant pull on it or be too agressive with it. other than that it is perfect for mounting the lights. mounting the bar to the truck. if you have a silverado. the easiest thing to do is pop the hood, take off the rubber covering over the radiator, take the front grill off. and then you perfect access to the mounting location. the bar has grown on me and i have been over all pretty happy with my purchase.

ok im going to start off and say this thing SUCKS!!! if you have a steel bumper it might work out a little better than steel bumpers with urathaine plastic over it. do your research before buying!!! it could really harm you in the wallet!!!

I had ordered a stainless bar but ended up returning it. The finish was very good and having 4 light tabs is a nice feature. Being able to retain factory tow hooks is main reason I purchased this light bar. However, the tabs were somewhat thin and I imagine mounted lights would vibrate/flicker a bit. Considering 2 tabs to the left of center and 2 tabs to the right of center, one set of light tabs was 1 inch off-center compared to the other side. (This may not be noticeable to some but I saw it right off.) The mounting brackets detract from a nice, clean appearance. They are flat and painted black, and quite "obvious". They seem to be an after thought... The brackets should be of a tubular design, available in either painted or stainless finishes. If you are looking for function and want to mount a set of fog and driving lights, this good product. I nice, clean looks is important to you, I would recommend one of the bull bars. You can then also purchase non-OEM tow hooks and mount them to the frame.

Either I received the wrong mounting hardware or Rampage needs to look at design a lot more. My f-150 HAD tow hooks. In order to mount the brackets I had to remover my tow hooks. Not what I wanted. After mouting brackets, I had to 'bring' the mounting tabs on light bar in order to mount the light bar. The half page of instructions didn't help.
