2005 Dodge Ram 2" / 4" drop
Posted 8/1/2008 by jay211
This kit went on surprisingly easy. No cutting, drilling, or grinding was necessary for my 2 door 2005 1500 Dodge pickup. My friend is a mechanic and helped me. While reading the instructions he said this is a great kit and will do the drop correctly, great quality parts. When we started we did the front first in replacing the control arms. Make sure you replace the shocks and you get the right ones! Stylin recommended the Toxic shocks so that's what we used. The shock bolts for the control arms are a little tough to thread because of the painted surface, but they work. The front Toxic shocks are the same part # but, The 2 rear Toxic shocks are different part #'s so whatch out when ordering! The instructions are concise and clear, but the illustrations are B/W, and grainy. Still it only took us 4 1/2 hours to finish. Afterwards on my truck the front wheels were sitting outward too much so we adjusted the front end shaft. Just loosened 2 nuts at the front shaft for each wheel, adjust the wheels straight by turning the shaft then tightned the nuts back. It corrected that problem. I'm getting my front alignment done tommorrow because I'm going to take a long road trip. But as it stands, the truck does not veer left or right on a straight road stretch hands free for 3 miles! This is the right kit to get and the appearance is fantastic!

Kit comes with everything except shocks. Instructions were a little iffy and not "Lowering for Dummies."

Though the truck looks great i did have to get the front end aligned afterwards.

The flip kit was a PITA to install. Alot more cutting and drilling and dirty rough work is involved than what they'd have you believe. The front went a little better. But the tires on stock rims rub the control arms when turned. But my Yukon sure looks good with the 3/4 drop. Air bags are a must for the rear. Don't think I could go any lower without major reconfiguring.

Stylin Trucks response posted on 8/31/2007
A flip kit is a fair amount of work. You do need to cut the frame and drill holes in the frame. The rims will rub the control arms if you are running stock 15" rims. One of the steps in the instruction tells you that you will need to trim the control arms if running 15" rims. They also give you detailed instructions on how to do this.

This was the easiest kit I have ever installed with the help of my good friend (and ASE certified mech). It looks great and rides like the factory.

This DJM kit looks great. Highly recommend this kits with the control arm replacement for the 2"/4" drop rather than just spring replacements. The stance is great. A couple of things to point out though for the 2002 and up ram. Get the DJM shock for a more firm ride or the front will easily bottom out against the inner wheel well plastic. Also, for the rear, the flip kit will drastically reduce suspension travel and cause the rear axle to bottom out against the bump stop on the frame. Highly recommend Air Lift Air Slam air bagsto increase spring rate.(stylin trucks looked this up for me and got this ASAP to me even though they didn't not have this online or in their catalog!!) Also, with this drop the front will need a severe alignment. Let whoever is doing you suspension work know that they will need to "eyeball" the toe in/out so that you can get to an aligment shop. The align I had was fine, but the adjustment was at it's limit for getting the toe in...mean it was good to go, but if it needed more, I wouldn't be able to unless the tie rod ends were shorter and threaded. Just keep this in mind. All in all...I insanley happy with the looks and the ride is actually better with DJM shocks on all fours. It handles better and more of a firm ride and not bouncy. --Jeremy, Virginia Beach, Va.

3" Not! 5" good to go
Posted 4/17/2008 by dodge1
Did not Drop 3" on the front of my dodge dakota sport like was told from tech support only 1.5 maybe but the rear did drop 5" so now my rear is lower then the front. Extra cost to drop the front the 3" had spring's cut not happy about that.

i just got this kit on my truck and the truck looks terrible. the back is lower than the front it looks like the back end sags. should have gotten a 3 inch block not the 4 inch. but i called stylin and there awesome they already are sending me out a new 3 inch block. hopefully the truck turns out right this time. and the quality of the kit is excellent.

I'm extremely happy with the drop, and the truck feels better too. This kit combined with belltech street performance shocks is an awesome combo

this kit was very easy to install even for a first timer like me.
i am very happy with the out come of it all.
two things that i recommend is have a buddy help you and go to an aligment shop not a tire, muffler shop to get your alginment done

3" / 4" DJM Lowering Kit
Posted 6/6/2007 by spymoto
I would have liked it better if the control arms were all black or all silver in color. The kit lowered my 07 Tahoe exactly how low it said it would. The installation was smooth and the pretty simple. The instructions could have been better because after doing one front side by the instructions the other side took half the time because I knew what to do in what order. This was an excellent kit and an easy install. spymoto

99 ford ranger 4"/5" drop
Posted 7/1/2007 by dd99xlt
I bought this lowering kit for my 99 ford ranger with 18"s and had it professionally installed...it is an awsome product. The only thing is when i am driving my truck and go over a hard bump in the road my front tires scrap the front wheel wells. Over all this is an awsome product and highly recommended tons of compliments.

DJM 4"/6" drop kit
Posted 10/16/2007 by jl73120
Well the design of this product is excellent but when ordering, special instructions need to be given to the shipper. When I opened the box I had found that the passenger side abs bolt was broke while in shipment. There was no packaging to help stablize the components. One other thing is that I only got 5" on the rear when the kit says 6". Still to this date (I've had it 3 weeks) I can not get only one to tell what the problem is. It may be that I have a regular cab short bed. Now I have to order more parts to get the full 6" I was wanting.
