instruction didn't say but removing the truck bed makes replacing the shackle hangers a whole lot easier...trust me.(2000 gmc sept side)

Shackle and Hanger Kit

very easy to put on. They have a setting where you can lower your truck 3 in' or go with the full 4 in'. You can also install them with out removing the bed.
