I just love it. These spacers look great and I love the hissing sound they make when you give it some gas. I had these on a 2004 Chevy Silverdo 5.3L 327ci with flowmaster supertruck style side exit catback. Once I added the spacer, hearing the combo of hissing and exhaust tone, I almost had to put a governor on my truck to stop from getting a speeding ticket. It will make you feel like you're in a race car. I recommend a spacer/exhaust combo! Just control that right foot.

Throttle Fade? Get PowerAid!
|
Posted 9/5/2007 by Peter Senesi
Installed the PowerAid TBS on my 2005 Chevy Avalanche 5.3L even though I have a K&N 77 Cold Air Intake. PowerAid's ads say it won't fit if you use a K&N Cold Air Intake, what they don't tell you is it will fit as long as you have an electric radiator fan.
Throttle response has improved, I don't know about mileage increase yet, too soon to tell. When you accelerate hard you hear the TBS whistling and the truck takes off. Good product. Great instructions. Installation was a breeze took less than 1/2 an hour. |

Awesome gain in torque and horses!!!
|
Posted 10/14/2007 by Mr. Lynch-Mob
I have a 96' Chevy C1500 2wd. I have dual Super 44 Flowmaster Mufflers and I bought and installed the Throttle Body Spacer for the extra horses. The power is a big gain but of course with such a deep rumble to my truck I couldn't hear the whistle. Then I decided to install the PowerAid Intake kit ("Classic") and oh my lord, the increase in horsepower is amazing. I can really hear the whistle now even over the Super 44's. The bottom line is if you want a huge gain in horsepower and torque get the PowerAid Throttle Body Spacer and also the PowerAid "Classic" Intake Kit. I am beyond impressed with PowerAid's products. I am a true believer!!! Thanks, Ryan(30) Vancouver, WA

You can really fill the difference with this product. Takes about 20 minutes to install. Gives off a whistling sound however, I am not sure why or if this is normal, but ok I guess. Some people say it sounds like I have a blower or supercharger on this truck. Over all I am very pleased.

installation is a snap. But it did not do anything in performance. I have the full intake system by air aid. I check the gas milage and it is the same. Good thing I didn't pay for the spacer otherwise it would make me not very happy.

I put on the Poweraid throttle body spacer in under a half hour. It works great and looks good. I have it along side of my K&N performance air filter and with the two of them my gas mileage has really improved in my 1994 Ford F-150. I put a lift and 35 inch mudders on and I get better gas mileage then before that. Every truck driver should have one.

i have a '96 k1500, i installed the tbs along with the airaid intake kit, i also put on edlebrock headers with a completely new 2.5 exhaust all the back running out super 40's . what a nice combo...i would encourage anyone who doesn't want the restriction of the factory airbox that says vortec on it, to go and buy a 2 inch plumbing cap and fasten it on the hole where the box was. overall the tbs and intake does wonders.

We all know that a supercharger is needed to spend slip or possi rear end. But is If you want on the fly overtaking speed and power with a little easy rigth foot fuel shaving, get the spacer, the intake and a catback that allows it the flow and function properly. While your at get the Edge and a TorboNator and what the other look over their shoulder as yuo come out of nowhere.

I have a 2005 Ford F150 with a K&N FIPK kit. The spacer works fine with the kit, but I cant tell much of a difference in any category of performance. I've heard the signature whistle a couple of times over 45 mph, but thats about it. Very easy to install, and looks good under the hood.

I installed this product on a 2006 F-150 and if you want a $100 dollar whistle this is the product for you. However if you want to save some money go to your local toy store, buy a whistle and continuously blow it while driving...everywhere. So, if you can stand the noise, the power gain is worth it.

Awesome Product
|
Posted 6/18/2008 by DodgeDakota3.9
I have a Dodge Dakota Sport 3.9. I installed this product in under 20min very easy. Love the hissing sound that it make and the pick up and go damn. Works well with the Gibson headers and Gibson cat back exhaust. The power is un-real. Note that it will not work with all intake systems. I have some friend that bought this product and they get nothing out of it. I also have an aftermarket air intake and all four combos work very well ( header, exhaust, spacer, intake )I would recommend this product to anyone. My next upgrades are flex a lite twin blade electric fan, a set of Jet pulleys, superchip cortex tuner, granatelli high-performance spark plug wires, and a brown gas system.

Installed on Ranger 3.0L in half an hour. Throttle response is much better. I don't hear the whistle unless I am under the hood moving the throttle by hand (then again I have a Gibson Dual Sport and no cats). It does however add a dinstict overtone to the exhaust sound at 3K rpm and up. As far as the skeptics go, it's very simple...want power? step on it, you will get some extra kick...want mileage? keep your foot out of it...you will see improvement. No, this product will not give you both at the same time. Yes it is worth the money. Kudos Airaid.

I didn't give this as high a mark as I could have, because one of the hold down bolts broke when torqued to spec's.
The install went without a problem till then. Also this isn't a job for the beginner but with some time the right tools and some knowledge you can get great results.I have gotten better gas mileage by 1 gallon per mile increase, and the torque in the mid range is definitely noticeable. On the up side Stylin Truck got it to me in record time and in perfect condition.Kudos to Stylin Truck.

2008 Silverado 5.3L
|
Posted 1/31/2009 by Silver08rado
I just recieved this product today from Fed Ex, very quick delivery. I put it on in about 10 minutes (its 20 degrees so I didn't wanna take too long). Its probably one of the easiest bolt on parts I've used. It seems to work with the K&N Cold air intake so far (remember it is only "supposed" to work between idle and 2500 rpm). It comes with a gasket and all the hardware you need with instructions. These people really take care of you, if you really need more directions just call them and they'll help (they send you their number).
Appearance: I gave it a 2 because with your beauty cover on (covers up all the electronics and makes for a cleaner look) you can't really see it unless you look from the side past the alternator.
So far great product and the people from Airaid put a lot of time and consideration into the fabrication of this product. Highly recommend this to anybody wanting to spend 100+ bucks
Alright, I gotta put this in here...
It whistles and with an aftermarket cold air intake has a nice growl and "shooooop" haha.

This thing is cool! I installed this spacer with a K&N cold air intake in about 10 minutes, and my gas mileage jumped 3 mpg on the first tank! Buyers need to understand that there is a distinct "whistle" when you accelerate. Some people don't like - I don't mind it. Almost sounds turbocharged. Definitely worth what you paid for in gas savings.
