| Ion Chrome finish |
|
| Posted 7/9/2007 by shaverba |
| Many people have asked me about this third brake light and I have only had it on for a few days. The ion chrome is like a two way mirror so during the day you can't really see the LED bulbs inside, but at night you can see them fine. The lights could be brighter and on very sunny days you can slightly see through the lens. Took 2 minutes to install. |

| I bought the smoked led third brake light for my 2004 ford f150 and it looks and works great overall i am happy with the purchase but dont be fooled with the 2 minute install. Good luck getting to the factory wiring harness connection in your ford. |

| Dim review |
|
| Posted 7/27/2007 by oilstrike |
| The two minute install is true for my Dodge, but the cargo light stayed dimly lit (5 of the led's). Stylin was good to send a replacement, but still had the same issue. Stylin is still good to their word and we are working this out. |

I installed the "smoked" lens on a 2000
Chevy Silverado. Installation took about
5 minutes (and I'm slow !). Very simple.
The lens wasn't as dark as I expected, but
looks great on the black truck. Much better than the stock light !! Red LED's
not quite as bright as stock bulbs but
still very visible. The white cargo lamp
LED's are pretty useless, but I never use them anyway. Definitely recommended. |

| Be careful when installing on 2007 F150 FX4, the connection will have to be dug out of the spacing between the cab shell and the interior shell. Other than that love the way it looks on a black truck |

| Easy to install, brake lights is great but the cargo lights are far dimmer than the regular 12v bulbs. Looks awesome with all the other chrome trim. |

| The product fits perfect and looks even better. Just a note to all, 05 F150 Ext Cab owners, the connector is on the right side and it is a bit of a fight to get it out. Don't get confused with the large connector that is in the center. |

| When I removed the 3rd Brake/Cargo light from my 1994 F-350 all the bulbs were broken. This 5 minute fix will solve that permanently!! A must have for an older truck. |

Fits great, but the retaining clip on harness was hard to get to other than that it looks good on my 05 F-150
The cargo lights are not as bright as the stock lights but the brake light looks good. |

| It took me about a total of 65 seconds to remove the stock lights and install the new Putco LED lights, piece of cake. The cargo lights don't seem to be that bright, but considering that I can't remember ever using them, I'm ok with that. Truck looks great and I couldn't be more pleased, money very well spent. |

| Awesome brake light |
|
| Posted 1/31/2008 by Cobra 150 |
| Like many other truck owners, very particular what goes on my truck. The putco smoked lens 3rd brake light blends right in to the window trim nicely. Fit and Finish is excellent. The Red and White LEDs stand out much better than factory light. On my model of truck the headliner had to be removed to get at the factory wire harness, evenso the plug and play install very easy. Luv to see matching LED tail lights. |

| This is the best led brake light out there. I have a 2007 F-150 King Ranch and it looks great with all the chrome. I will say that the install is not a easy as the video looks. Sure it is only two screws on top but, the plug is on a retainer clip about 10" back and to the passager side of the truck. If you pull too hard it will unplug and you will have to fish it out. I had to cut the retainer clip to get to the plug. All and all, you will be glad you put it on and everyone will ask about it. |

| Ion Chrome? |
|
| Posted 6/10/2009 by cwtaylor |
I think it looks pretty good but it looks more smoke than chrome. And you can see the LED lights when not lit....not as described by Putco. The other complaint is it does note include replacement gaskets for the screw heads, which are most certainly going to be destroyed when you removed the screws from the factory 3rd brake light. I used a bit of clear caulk to cover the screw heads.
Overall, I like the way it looks, but don't think it's any brighter than the stock lights. |
