Fire & Ice LED Light Strip

Product InfoRelated ItemsReviews
Description:

Add an LED Light Bar Anywhere!
The Plasmaglow Fire and Ice LED Light Strip is a cutable and customizable LED light strip. Just like the Fire and Ice Light Bar from Plasmaglow, the Light Strip is the only light strip on the market that works as a running light, brake light, turn signals and features bright, white LED backup lights. And it can be cut to any length for installation anywhere.

The LED strip comes coiled in a small box to eliminate the oversize shipping charges you'll find with most llight bars. Simply unroll, cut to length, and install anywere you want. The strip features automotive adhesive, so it'll stay put and look great.

Mini-truck with a stepside bed - finally an LED light bar short enough for you. Want an LED light bar in your rear window - cut to length and stick it where you like. Plasmaglow makes it easy!

How It Works:
Step on the brakes and the LED light strip acts as a third brake light (or fourth!) The full gamut of red LED's lets everyone behind you know you are stopping. Put on your turn signals and the light bar flashes the corresponding side. Shift your truck into reverse and your Fire & Ice Light Strip automatically switches to backup light up mode. Powerful white LEDs create a "safety zone" behind your truck for safe, confident maneuvering. (White reverse wire must be hard-wired into your tail lenses.)

  • Easy to install using pre-applied automotive adhesive - no drilling!
  • Includes 4-way plug connector - plugs right into trailer harness!
  • Weather-proof housing.
  • Lifetime Warranty.

Be the first to upgrade your truck with the latest in lighting technology, the new Fire & Ice LED Light Strip from Plasmaglow!

Staff Review
Fire and Ice
Posted 10/12/2009 by JWagner
Original post: 10/18/2007
Way better quality then the all red light bar. Had to use there 60 day warrantee a few times, but with the Fire and Ice it has lasted over a year and a half. Even transfered it from vehicles. These are the only source of taillights, turn signals and reverse lights on the back of my Dakota, and I wouldn't go with someone I personally wouldn't recommend. Also, if you shave your taillights and use this as your only source of rear lighting, check local laws, and use small DOT reflectors, since you are required to have one on each corner of the vehicle.

Edit: 10/12/09
Just like to add almost 2 years later, and still going strong!

Fire and Ice L.E.D. bar
Posted 10/26/2007 by 1eleanor
The installation was the easy part, the only item that will be optional to purchase is a roll of 3M tape to safely secure the bar in place, other than that be prepared to turn heads day and night!!

Wow!!
Posted 11/30/2007 by bvice
The first shipment had to be returned because it was broken in shipping. A replacement shipment was sent immediately. The light bar was extremely easy to install on the back of my Dodge Ram. It looks great, and really catches the eye, especially the brightness of the backup lights. My son likes it so much, he has hinted for one of these for his truck, as a Christmas gift!

Won't fit trucks with hole between bumper & tailgate needed to lower spare tire
Posted 12/5/2007 by Don O'Connell
Take note if you own a 2006 Dodge Ram or another with the same spare tire lowering system. If you properly position this where it can be seen (which is the point) you will cover the hole necessary to insert the rod to lower your spare tire. I could have mounted it above this hole but it would have been blocked by the tailgate.

Fire and Ice L.E.D.
Posted 12/7/2007 by dicknorton
I purchased this for a 2006 Ford F150 FX4. I called and was told it would fit. Well, it does not as a bar that is in the tailgate that stops it from dropping beyond horizontal will strike the light.

Stylin Trucks response posted on 12/7/2007
On this particular vehicle, there is a small nub that can be removed for additional clearance.

Fire and Ice LED Light Bar
Posted 12/10/2007 by S10Reaper
Installation was a little rough, but my lighting has inproved greatly. I've noticed people don't tailgate as much. Also, I can backup easier. So far it's the best accessory I've bought.

Please post a note about the nub on the tailgate!!
Posted 12/12/2007 by carnut57
Well It looked good till the first time I opened and closed the tailgate!! There is a nub on the bottom of the tailgate that cracked mine and now it dosen't work!! Ford owners would like to know this before they spend this kind of money to break something!!

Please post something on the website so the next 04 up ford F150 owner that buys one knows he is going to have to cut something off his truck to make it work!! I'm really disappointed to have spent this money and break something that fast!!!!!!!

NIce Light Bar
Posted 12/17/2007 by the2larues
This light bar was a bit difficult to install on my Titan. The factory 3M tape was quite limited and would not stick to the area below the tailgate but I think that was mainly due to the spray on bedliner. I had to take the factory tape off and put some 3M tape on for the entire length of the light bar and then I had to notch the light bar to fit around the access hole for my spare tire. It was a lot more work than I had anticipated but it looks great.

Mine does not change to white color when i back up. It supposed to come with free headlight bulbs but did not. Overall it's ok product since it puts more lights the back of my truck.

Stylin Trucks response posted on 12/18/2007
For the backup light to work, you need to wire the light bar to the backup lights wire. Once you do that they will work when in reverse.

I purchased the light bar mid-summer 2007. Installation was fairly easy, you do need to hard wire the reverse light. Recently the left side LED's burned out, I called up Stylin Truck's customer service and they really took care of me. Even though the light bar was a few months old, they are replacing it! This is why I am a returning customer, and will recommend to all! Thanks Stylin Trucks!

MAGNIFICO!!!!!!
Posted 12/19/2007 by bgmiket
I was very happy with my light bar. However, when the directions said to put the white reverse wire on it was not clear exactly how to do it. So, if anyone has trouble with the instalation of the reverse wire just take off the driver's side tail light and reverse light bulb, use a light bulb tester to find live wire while someone puts the vehicle in reverse. Oh yah, make sure they hold the brake too. Then, slice wire just enough to show some bare wire, connect white wire to reverse wire. Then tape securely together. Sounds like alot, but it went pretty smoothly.

Great Light
Posted 12/21/2007 by kooldodge
I really like the look and functions of this light,The more light out back the better. Installation was fairly easy with the exception of the spare tire crank down hole on my dodge but it will fit. For the reverse light we tapped into the round seven pronge harness in the bumper, the center is the back-up wire.

Great Product and easy to install
Posted 12/27/2007 by ricky828
Looks great and works perfect. For any one installing make sure your tail gate opens and closes with out hitting the light bar before taping. I ending up taking the tape off the back and mounting in more flush to fit with ease. Other than that instalation went great.

Good Looking Light Bar, But!
Posted 12/30/2007 by cocno1
I Have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 and I will tell you that you have to mount the light bar up a little higher than you normally would so that you can get your jack implement into the hole that lowers down your spare tire! Then you have to be careful not to mount it to high or when you lower your tailgate it will hit the light bar and maybe damage it! I moved mine up a little and then cut a little piece out of the hard rubber gromet that goes around the spare tire hole so the bar you use to lower the spare tire would still slide in thru the hole, or you can remove the hard rubber gromet all together before installing the light bar! I got mine on though and it looks great! I really like the reverse light function at night! One more thing the instructions doesn't tell you is that you have to splice into your reverse light wiring! I called my local Dodge service dept. and got them to tell me the wire to splice into which for my year truck it was a violet with black stripe! Hope this helps!

2007 gmc caynon
Posted 6/11/2008 by kennyg
Light bar looks good but if you own a 2004-2007 gmc caynon you will notice when you put the brakes on at the same time as the turn signals it will blink opposite of the taillight it is not a fault in the light bar it is the way these trucks are built. they have seperate turn from brake. gm is trying to come up with a fix to the problem for these trucks that have a factory tow package. Gm has advised me to hard wire it before the trailer harness to fix this problem.

I installed this on my brothers 1998 Chevy Silverado. The hardest part of installation was adhering the light stick straight on the truck. I hard wired this light and total time for installation was an hour and a half. GREAT lighting especially the white LEDs for backup. Good product good price.

Great Bar, a little tricky on install
Posted 1/9/2008 by hlawrimore
I love the light bar, I just wish that it came with some splicing instructions and conectors. I hardwired it to my lights, that way I did not tie up the trailor light plug. However, I fortunatly had my own splicing equipment and conectors so I figured it out. The instructions could be a little more detailed on the splicing aspect.

Fire & Ice light bar
Posted 1/14/2008 by marshalljr21
Light bar looks great, easy install. The reverse lights on the bar need to be hardwired (Very easy if you have any electrical skills). And I would just use the trailer hitch adapter because if you have a trailer on the vehicle you wont see the light bar. GREAT PORDUCT, WOULD DEFFINATLY RECCOMEND TO ANYONE.

I recently received my Fire & Ice 60" light bar for my 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 dually. A friend had gotten one prior to me and gave me some good tips along with reading all the comments left by customers. For this model truck I do recommend you notch the grommet covering the spare tire raise/lower mechanism. Also if you will place a CD case on the bumper and slide the light bar in to the area under the tailgate and it will be perfectly lined up. Overall this is an awesome product. Installation took approximately 30 minutes... maybe if you count the time it took to take off the taillight assembly, clean the area where I was going to put the light bar, and make sure the light bar was centered.

This is just right for my truck,i drive the highway alot, you will get noticed, but dont put in reverse at the red light, everybody freak's out,it's brite
easy to install, easyest way that i found out. is to remove tail gate, it goes on straight, and on a ford just trim out around steel pin hole.....

Installation of this product is a real no-brainer. Even a quick look at the directions will get you where you need to go. I took the extra time to wire it directly, which is very easy with the pre-punched/drilled holes in the tail light mounts. Total install time was less than 25 minutes.

I INSTALLED THE 60 " BAR ON MY 2006 CHEVY SILVERNADO . THIS LIGHT BAR COULD BE IMPROVED BY HAVING BLADE PLUG-IN ON THE END OF THE WHITE WIRE AND A NEW STYLE QUICK WIRE SPLICE CONNECTOR FOR THE BACK-UP WIRE CONNECTION [ REFERENCE THE CONNECTORS ON THE HIGH-4 LIGHT KIT ] ALSO , THE WHITE BACK-UP BULBS COULD BE BRIGHTER . ONCE INSTALLED THE LIGHT BAR WORKED GOOD

Very Happy

I love it, it's bright, and it really set's my Avalanche above others. Installation though was a different matter. You have two choices. First, buy and adapter that you can't lock down that sticks out, and could be easily stolen (eyesore). Second, you have to get up under and hard wire it in with no directions on how to do that. That would have been nice to know ahead of time. The adhesive also does not work on the Avalanche, because the truck doesn't have enough surface where the unmovable 3m tape is. So I again had to find additional solutions and spend more money. That issue may be Avalanche/year specific, I am not sure.

Still, I would buy it again.

Great Light bar to add to any truck or SUV. I put it on a Bagged 1996 Dodge Ram. Mounted it to the back glass of the truck.
