These are a direct replacement for my 2008 GMC Sierra low beams.
Overall I'd say they are mediocre at best. They have a pleasing blue tint, but that's about the best I can say about them.
The blue tint has its drawbacks. First, it means that you sacrifice overall brightness and range. It seems to be they accomplished the blue tint simply by tinting the glass itself, which means dramatically reducing the brightness. If I had to estimate, I'd say they are about 75% as bright as the stock bulbs.
Second, even for objects within range, the blue tint means that unless these things are either white or blue, you're probably not going to see them very well. Blacks, browns, reds, pretty much anything you'd normally come across on the roads are dimly lit at best, nearly invisible at worst.
Since these are low beam replacements, they are not as detrimental to safety as the equivalent high beams (9005) for my truck. Reaction times are shortened, but not by much. They do have a nice color to them, which might be enough for some people to sacrifice the visibility. For me, though, this is the exact opposite of what I was looking for. |
