Easy install, installed it in a 10 min work break. Definately well worth it. Must agree it's a tight fit, but never had any problems with it.

With my right arm not functioning yet after shoulder reconstion, this has been great one hand opening. No trying to catch the gate or banging the gate on the cables. Installation was a piece of cake.

Great product, doesn't work too well on a Tacoma

Have previously installed a similar unit on my '03 GMC, and it worked like a charm there. This one was bought for mu '09 Tacoma, and was easy to install, but the tailgate cable interferes with the assist shock when you close the tailgate. You will have to move the tailgate cable to the side each time you close the tailgate to avoid binding/damaging the assist.

I got this for my Dodge Ram when I nearly crushed my four year old son's head with my tailgate...it works great and simple to install.

EZ doesn't cover it

Took longer to get out and put away my tools than to install it. Only lacks a coat of paint on the brackets to be 100% perfect.

works sweet, just needs a better cable guide that self clamps without having to use cheesy zip ties and shrink wrap. That would give this product a 10+.

Excellent Concept BUT

Installed on a 2005 Dodge Ram. Tight fit for both the cable and this device. Shrink wrap and sleeve is not working out as a solution from the cable jamming the cylinder and rear tail light. I feel it will break the light so I finally just took the cable out. The mounting pin on the tailgate is a bit cheezy - without the cable I now need to worry about this piece. Other than that it works great. Poor quaility installation instructions.

no more damaged tailgates

It took me 5 minutes to install after I watched the online video. The first Half it works like a normal tailgate, then it slows right down until cables go tight. All my friend love it. My friend had one of his cables brake and it damaged the tailgate on the end that the cable didn't brake, if he had the EZ-down I know it would have saved it.

Does not fit a 06 Ford F150 Super Crew FX4 Flareside extended bed. piston too long or maybe I received a rturn with wrong size even though label is correct for F150 styleside?? Wrench included stripped immediately. took longer to get bolt off then install, nice idea but cheaply made. Had to return and waste my own money on shipping back.

cable broke

What a piece of junk! The cable broke the tail light lens on my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 the first time i opened it. The foam spacer is not the answer. The new lens cost more than your cheap product. To bad it was not tested better.

This item is great. I've never had a problem with it. I'm not breakin' my side openin my tailgate. It fits great on my 02 f250. Easy to install inconspicuous works.

I installed this on my 2005 GMC Sierra with no problems. Installation was quick and simple. Less than 15 minute installation time. Works great and really lets the tail gate down slow and easy. Great product so far.

No more dropped tailgates

It's great that I can now open the tailgate on my Dodge Ram P/U and it lowers itself at a slow, steady rate. No more over-stressing the support cables or anchors. It was fairly easy to install; it took about 15 minutes or so.
