Description:

K&N's FIPK Air Intake Systems are high-quality cold air induction kits for your fullsize pickup truck or SUV

Feel the thrill of the road and the roar of the engine with a new FIPK (Fuel Injection Performance Kit) Air Intake System from K&N, the leaders of aftermarket automotive air induction systems.

The K&N FIPK's revolutionary design includes a replacement air box, a high-density polyethylene air tube and an award-winning K&N filtercharger air filter. The sturdy air box keeps the hot air from your engine compartment out of your intake stream, so you get a cold, dense, powerful air supply. The high-density polyethylene air tube is molded for the smoothest, straightest air path possible while delivering colder air than any metal tube ever could. Couple that with a high-flowing conical style K&N filtercharger air filter and you've got a combination that can't be beat. The accordion design of K&N's air filter delivers 500% more filtering surface than your factory filter and is washable and reusable, likely outlasting your truck.

What does all this mean to you? A more efficient, more powerful truck with better throttle response and more towing and passing power. Drive efficiently and you will also see gains in fuel economy!

K&N FIPK Air Intake Systems are Emission Legal in all 50 states. They are CARB exempt, and include a high temperature sticker to prove it.

And K&N stands behind their product - giving you a Million-Mile Warranty!

So upgrade your truck or SUV's air intake system to a K&N FIPK Air Intake System and get the benefits of better mileage, higher efficiency and more raw power! Order today.

Click on the "Videos" tab above to see how K&N's high-flowing air filter compares to your factory unit.

Nice Piece
Posted 4/24/2007 by jmaj
The K&N intake is a very nice piece but can get a little confusing with the instructions. The instructions for my truck ('00 S10 4.3) told me to use tools that were either too small or too large for the bolt that I needed it for. But, if you have your tools handy, it shouldn't be hard to figure out what you need. Overall, it was a simple installation and a great looking product.

Great Product for 98 GMC Sierra Pickup
Posted 4/2/2009 by razor2242
I have the 5.7L engine and I love it and know that I have installed it I love it even more. I saved almost 3 mpg in 4 wheel drive. Works real good with the superchip programmer. Its amazing and fairly easy to install looks great when you open you hood too. I recommend this product for everyone that owns a 5.7L. Get the wrap for $40 its well worth it.

I have an 06 F-150 4x4. It took about an hour and fifteen minutes to install. Everything fit perfectly, Looks good under the hood. I get better gas milage, and more noticeable power, especially when towing a twenty foot boat trailer. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting more power and response from their truck.

Cool product, awsome power and I did better mpg, i average about 22mpg on the highway two miles more to the gallon than the estimated number anyway thats because i have bigger, heavier tires (p265-65R17) than the stock one's!(P245-70R17) a great investment, picked up about 10hp and 15tq with the basics of exhaust, spacer and fitch fuel catalyst!

Not so trouble free on my 5.3L Trailblaser
Posted 7/12/2007 by Redline04
The install went well until I found I was missing one of the rubber coupling boots, had to wait a week to get it replaced. The plastic tube looks cheap, but is supposed to be better(Cooler air flow)than the chromed one.
I've had consistant MAF sensor issues since the install. Apparently the oil from the K&N filter is getting on the MAF sensor wires, which causes an error resulting in the Engine Service light coming on. The only way to resolve that is to buy an electronics cleaner, take the air intake appart, spray the sensors, wait 20-30 minutes and put it together again. The hotter it is outside, the more often it occurs. I'd recomment finding a DRY filter version of the K&N to avoid this irritating hassle.

Stylin Trucks response posted on 7/26/2007
The biggest benefit of the High Density Polyethylene tube is the ability to create any shape, maximizing HP gain. If you look at the Dyno charts on K&N's website the "plastic" tubes always achieve better HP. K&N's original oil filters use a small amount of oil to trap dirt and dust particles. K&N has done numerous tests to show that the oil does not migrate from the filter to the MAF sensor. It is also possible that it could be a bad MAF sensor. More than likely your sensor was marginal and the increased air flow is more than it can properly detect. Odds are if you replace the sensor all will be fine. K&N is more than willing to get involved, test the sensor and stand behind any issues you may have. Take a look at this link www.knfilters.com/MAF/massair.htm for the truth about MAF sensors and oil migration.

AWESOME on 98' Tahoe 5.7
Posted 7/27/2007 by ed2552
Install went pretty easily, dropped a few parts, went on in 1 Hr, because it was hot and i went inside to cool off like 5x LOL. Soundz and performs awesome w/ Hypertech tuner, instructions vague in a few spots, but if you are mechanically inclined the slightest bit, you will figure it out. Great Performer!!

Awesome
Posted 8/8/2007 by skaterpunk0187
This intake is awesome!! I have been using a K&N filter in the stock air box and now the FIPK intake and have never had a problem with the MAF sensor unless when you recharge the filter you're using too much oil then!

Good product
Posted 8/17/2007 by fastkerns20
I got a 1997 chevy K/2500 5.7 4x4 when I bought it, it only got 9-10 MPG. I put the generation 2 intake on which was easy and took less than a hour and it now gets nearly 13 MPG in the city all the time. The intake has nice rumble when you hit the gas and I did get better power too. I tested before i put it on and from my stop sign to a electric pole I i got up to 50 MPH. After i get to at least 55 MPH. It looks very agressive under the hood too everyone thats seen it is impressed. I plan on buying the intake for all my vehicles too. I also am plannig on other upgrades for my truck like a exhaust or chip but cant deside on a brand cause all of them have several poor reviews.... any help?

Nice Buy
Posted 8/28/2007 by jkmeno
I installed the K&N air intake on my 2001 Chevy Silverado, 4.8l pickup. The instructions were not the greatest, but what instruction sheet is. Installation took about an hour and a half and I could feel the jump in HP immediately. Don't know if my MPG has increased because I cannot keep my foot off the gas. My Flowmaster series 40 sounds deeper than before. I can't wait to get the Diablo Predator programmer to maximize my increased airflow.

Great airflow
Posted 10/6/2007 by RMahan
Increases airflow. Instructions were accurate, once I could figure out what the pictures were. They keep switching camera angle from on pic to the next. The hose adaptor between the tube and the throttle body could have been about a 1/2 inch longer, this would have saved some cussing and throwing things!! Other than that, install was a breeze. The seal is a pain to put on, several curves and bends to the heat shield. This went on a 2004 Chevy Z71 4.8L. With the new exhaust I put on it last week, it runs and sounds great. Good throttle response too. Get one of these, they open up the airflow considerably over the OEM setup. Do the exhaust also to take advantage of the increased airflow.

I put one on my 05 Ford F150 5.4 V8. The difference in performance is a great improvement. The sucking sound it makes when you mash the pedal is awesome. Combined with my Banks exhaust, you just cant do any better for the money.

Great results, But poor quality air box
Posted 4/2/2008 by dodgeme562
Performance wise I did not feel much of a difference, but for fuel economy it rules! I gained 3.5-4 mpg gain almost immediately it is an excellent product! My only gripe is with the air box itself there is holes that you could put your hand through. To fix this I just cut some sheet metal to close off the gaps, otherwise its a great product!
