Stylin Trucks and Ohio Technical College Join Up At The 2010 Cleveland Auto-RamaSpring is in the air, and in Cleveland, Ohio, that means that the Auto-Rama must be at the I-X Center. On March 19-21, the 45th annual Federated Auto-Rama was host to more than 200 hot rods, pick ups, motorcycles and the Batmobile… record crowds embarked upon the 280,000 square feet facility to see some of the most spectacular vehicles in the mid west.
And the exhibition did not disappoint. There were famous vehicles including a replica of the Batmobile used in the latest motion picture release The Dark Knight. The display, hosted by the Make A Wish Foundation, also had the creepiest life-size wax figure of the Joker you will ever see. I kept waiting for it to move when I was shooting pictures of it. My other personal favorite was the Deathmobile from Animal House.
There were also live celebrity appearances by Shirley Feeney (Cindy Williams), The Bid Ragu (Eddie Mekka) and little Joanie Cunningham (Erin Moran). Other guests included Legendary Custom Builder Gene Winfield, Sam Memmolo From Speed Channel's "2 Guys Garage" and WWE’s "The Million Dollar Man" bodyguard Virgil.
But the shining star of the Auto-Rama was our own partner Ohio Technical College and their massive display including a custom 80-foot trailer housing their live airbrush demonstration featuring artist Richard Markham. OTC was also showing off the handy work that they did on installing a suicide door kit on Stylin Trucks Customer Service Rep Joe Wagner’s 2002 Dodge Dakota Sport. Oh, just a footnote, our Joe “Joey Dubbs” Wagner once again pulled in first place at the Auto-Rama for his mini-pickup classification.
