(Scroll Down for the video interview!) Danielle: Hello, I am here with our prize winner. He just won the Quaker Steak prize just for registering and being here with us. Gary is your name. Gary were ya from?
Gary: Hartford, Ohio.
Danielle: Hartford, Ohio. And that's all the way by Pennsylvania?
Gary: Yeah, right on the border.
Danielle: Right on the border. Ok, and this is your GMC right here. Tell us a little bit about your truck. What you've done to her or him. I call trucks "hers" just 'cause, but tell us what you've done.
Gary: I totally took it apart and restored it. I bought it in 95. It wasn't really that bad. It only had forty-eight thousand miles on it.
Danielle: Nice.
Gary: So I took it all apart and restored it. Tried to keep it as original as possible.
Danielle: Ok, let's go in the back here. So this came as...like this, or you actually took it apart and...
Gary: The top comes off.
Danielle: The top comes off.
Gary: And I have a soft top which I should have brought today.
Danielle: Because of the rain but it looks like it just ended so... Alright.
Gary's GMC Jimmy features dual exhaust, a freshly rebuilt 350, and a sporty bikini top.
(Click to expand) Danielle peeks in the back.
This GMC had a feature in Four Wheel Drive mag.
Gary pops the hood to show off the motor.
Gary: Got that bikini top to put on it to keep the sun off the seats and me.
Danielle: There ya go. Alright and this bench seat you put in here?
Gary: That's the original seat.
Danielle: Original seat! Nice. It looks like it's in great condition.
Gary: And that plaque down there is where I had it in a Four Wheel Drive magazine.
Danielle: Four Wheel Drive Magazine. Nice! And you lifted the truck or...
Gary: No it's just stock except for the tires are about three inches higher than they're supposed to be.
Danielle: Three inches higher than they're supposed to be. Nice big tires.
Gary: That's the original tire on the back, the spare tire.
Danielle: Nice. So you go to a lot of truck shows all over?
Gary: That's what I do.
Danielle: That's what you do? Well you do it very well.
Gary: Yeah.
Danielle and Gary have a great time talking about his 1970 Jimmy.
Gary's 1970 GMC K5 Jimmy. Our camera guy, Mike, braves the rain to get a critical shot.
Danielle: Anything else you wanted to tell us about the truck? What about the exhaust? Was that original or you added that....
Gary: No. Dual exhaust is not stock.
Danielle: Dual exhaust is not stock. Ok.
Gary: There's only a couple things that not stock on it. The wheels...
Danielle: Ok.
Gary: And the dual exhaust. Everything else is pretty well stock.
Danielle: Alright. I'm learning all about trucks today. Thank you, you're really helping me out. Alright, anything else you wanted to tell us about your baby?
Gary: Well we could pop up the hood if you want, look at the motor.
Danielle: Sure, lets check out the motor. Alright and tell me what I'm seeing under here.
Gary: It's the original 350 motor. It's only got sixty-thousand miles on it.
Danielle: Sixty-Thousand! Wow! That's less than my car.
Gary: It's got air conditioning, but I don't have it charged up cause I never have the top on.
Danielle: So who needs air conditioning when you have a little convertible? Alright, well, thank you Gary for your time and stay dry today.
Gary: Try to.
Danielle: Try to. Alright, and we'll be back with some more cool stuff.
