Enough about K&N, let’s get down to discussing the products that make K&N one of the world leaders in air filter and oil filter technology.

K&N High Performance Intake Kits

K&N manufactures four different types of intake systems: Fuel Injection Performance Kits (FIPK), 77-Series High Flow Air Intake Kits, Typhoon Cold Air Intake Systems, and Aircharger Performance Air Intakes.

Fuel Injection Performance Kits
Fuel Injection Performance Kits, or FIPKs, are one of the most widely used intake systems on the market today. The kits begin with a large, high-flowing conical air filter. The air filter is mounted to a molded tube made from high-density, heat-resistant polyethylene. The assembly is then attached to the motor using silicon or reinforced nylon adaptors. Every FIPK system meets emissions requirements in all 50 states.

77-Series High-Flow Air Intake Kits
K&N 77-Series High-Flow Air Intake Kits are very similar to the standard FIPK except that the high-flow tube is made from aerodynamically engineered aluminum. That’s a fancy way of saying that the tube is bent and smoothed to allow the absolute best airflow possible. They don’t just perform beautifully, they look great too. The aluminum tube comes in either a polished, mirror-like finish, or the durable grey powdercoated look.

Aircharger Performance Air Intake Systems
Aircharger Performance Air Intake Systems are actually the same as the FIPKs, except that the individual applications are released to the public before receiving California Air Resource Board (C.A.R.B.) approval. This is where you will find all of the hot, new air intake systems. Because of their non-C.A.R.B. approval status, Airchargers are not street legal. Once the particular application receives emissions approval (and becomes street legal), it is then re-released as an FIPK.

K&N Stock Replacement Air Filters

K&N manufactures replacement air filters for nearly every vehicle on the road. The high-flow cotton gauze filters are washable and designed to last the life of the vehicle. Ranging from four to six layers thick, the cotton gauze is sandwiched between two sheets of aluminum mesh, pleated and then oiled to enhance filtering capabilities. Like any of the K&N air filters included in the air intake systems, these stock replacement air filters have a million mile warranty. The filters are washable, with K&Ns cleaning kit, and reusable for the life of the vehicle.

K&N Wrench-Off Oil Filters

K&N Wrench-Off Oil Filters have the words “wrench-off” in their name because the bottom of the filter has a convenient one-inch nut for easy installation and removal. Remember the last time your changed your oil and what a pain it was to remove the filter? You’ll never have that problem again. And let’s not forget about the other thing that makes these oil filters great; their outstanding filtration.

K&N’s oil filters use a resin impregnated cellulose media to filter your oil. That scientific mumbo-jumbo means that K&N uses the latest filtering technology available. The resin is a type of glue that holds the fibers together but keeps the fibers separated enough to allow passage of oil, but not contaminates. The filters also include an anti-drainback valve to prevent oil from draining from the filter when the engine is off. This virtually eliminates dry starts and helps to increase the life of your engine.
