Magnusson Supercharger Installation
Here at StylinTrucks, we are all about speed and power. Yes, looks are important and so is braking performance. But neither of those will get you from zero to 60 in a blur of seatbelt-fumbling frenzy. There is only one group of truck accessories that will do that. My friends, I am talking about superchargers. And more specifically, the Magnacharger we installed on our sweepstakes vehicle, a 2005 Chevy Tahoe.
With nearly 300HP and 300lb. ft. of torque from the factory, the GM 4.8L Vortech powerplant is nothing to laugh at. Right off of the dealer lot, the Tahoe was pretty fast. Our plan was to make it a whole lot quicker with the addition of a Magnusson Products Magnacharger.
Offering power gains of 30-40% over stock, superchargers are definitely a great way to make some serious power. Your engine is basically an air pump, so the more air you can cram in, the more power you get out. That’s what a supercharger does. It crams more air into your motor, creating more power. After installation, our Tahoe ended up with just over 400HP and 412 lb. ft. of torque. Now that is serious power! And Magnusson does it the right way by maximizing horsepower and torque while maintaining drivability and long-term durability. Their kit is 50-state emissions legal, offers a 3 year warranty, and won’t void your factory warranty.
The Installation
The installation of a supercharger is no walk in the park. We had a factory representative from Magnusson come out so we could watch the installation and we recommend you have yours installed by a professional as well. With that being said, let's check out the installation...
