John Rosenbalm's '93 Chevy Silverado

Most guys in their teens are busy worrying about girls, or when they're gonna get their first car. The only thing John Rosenbalm is worried about is where to put all of his show trophies.

At just 15-years-old, he's way ahead of the curve as far as custom truck building is concerned. He and his dad took this 1993 Chevrolet Silverado from a junkyard heap to a mean street machine in just 7 months. "It was a bucket of bolts," says John.

The body work started out with a 94-98 grille update kit, a polished billet grille, shaved door handles, shaved tailgate handle, a roll pan, and a smoothie front bumper. The custom two-tone paint job is separated by a neon green pinstripe that connects on the smooth tailgate in a worm graphic. Why a worm? Because that's John's nickname, "Wormy."

They switched out the faded factory lights for Aftermarket headlights, parking lamps, and corner lenses. And the dreaded factory tails were removed for some stylish euro tail lights.

"We paint-matched the chassis and frame," remarks John. "We also installed DJM springs in the front and a hanger and shackle kit out back. It's got a really great stance." The big wheels are 20" DUB Moabs with Nitto rubber.

The engine was freshened up with a rebuild, a chrome air cleaner, and Hooker headers venting into a dual exhaust system with Dynomax Turbo mufflers.

To take the interior to another level, John and his crew made custom door panels and replaced the tired carpet with a new black one. Also, the dash was died black and the headliner was wrapped in black. The seats were covered in black and grey vinyl with bowties stitched into the headrests. A billet dash kit, a Grant steering wheel, and polished billet door sills spice up the rest of the interior.

Anyone can be proud of the stereo system John installed. A BOSS head unit with a flip-out screen powers dual 12" BOSS 1200 watt subs, in a custom sub box, via a 2000 watt Volfenhagen amp. Another 6" LCD screen provides more viewing for the PS2, and partying goes on all night with the 10 disc CD changer.

And like other guys his age, John likes chasing pretty ladies and riding motocross. All of the work was done at the shop that John and his Father work at, Allen's Auto. John says about the experience, "the best part is that I did it with him(Dad). I hope to win trophies and be published in a magazine. This truck is truly one of a kind."
